October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and Light Innovations is joining the Little Rock community to battle against the most prevalent cancer in the world through the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. By donating to research and treatment advancements and spreading awareness of early detection and screening, the Susan G. Komen organization works nationally to support the 1.3 million people that are diagnosed with breast cancer annually. Established in 1992, the Arkansas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen has since held 16 annual races and raised more than $9.7 million. Of the money raised during the race, 75% stays within the state to provide support and education on early detection to thousands of Arkansas men, women and families.

To honor the ones we’ve lost and support current and future sufferers until we find a cure, the 2011 race will be held on October 22nd in downtown Little Rock at Broadway & 2nd Street. Those looking to participate in the race can register online, set up a Personal Fundraising Page and invite friends and family to donate. Local professionals can get involved by volunteering their skills and experience in the areas of development/special events, community programs advocacy and administrative.

The employees of Light Innovations and PC Hardware will be walking aside Charlene Prousnitzer in support of Race for the Cure. Click here to donate. Every little bit helps!
