When the dog days of summer hit we all want to be outside to enjoy the beautiful weather, right? Unfortunately the fun lasts longer than the daylight so here are a couple of tips to help you extend your summer fun with lighting.

• Light your way around the landscape. A few well placed lights along your sidewalks and pathways adds both visibility and beauty. Make sure you have a light at each bend or blind spot along your path.
• Light your patio or deck. Position a rope light along the perimeter of your area. This will outline and give you clear boundaries in your outdoor room. A nice overhead light with a reflector shield to diffuse the glare is a nice addition to the patio.
• Add nice outdoor fixtures at all your doors. At least one light at each door. Put one on each side of the larger garage door. These will add both beauty and function to your house.
• Go green when possible. Solar lighting comes in many shapes and sizes. Use energy efficient lights and bulbs to keep your costs down and help the environment.
