• Make sure you determine the size of your bedroom before picking out your bedroom lighting.

• You should take the scale of your bedroom into consideration; you will want to avoid purchasing light fixtures that have longer bodies and instead choose light fixtures that are flush-mounted or shorter.

• Figure out what you want to do inside your bedroom (reading, working on the computer, sewing, etc), and then determine what type of lighting you’ll need to aid these activities.

• Do not install your overhead light source directly over your bed. Lighting directly over your bed will cause discomfort if you look up while reclining in bed.
